Medical Transcriptionist
Urgent need for two (2) full time Medical Transcriptionists to work in the administrative office of the pathology and laboratory department. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm. This will be a 6 month contract, with the possibility of the contract to be extended.
Typical duties will include:
- Track each step of the surgical pathology diagnostic process
- Create and manage charts and graphs for pathology reports and quality control management
- Program and manage MS Excel software to breakdown laboratory expenses and revenue, manage detailed electronic patient health records and reports, and abstract data from medical records
- Translate medical terms and abbreviations into Current Procedural Terminology and SNOMED coding
- Create and disseminate pathology and laboratory educational materials, instructions and information
- Verify patient health information, specimen accession information, and gross description
- Perform and assist with other administrative and clerical duties as needed
EOE/AA EMP - M/F Vet/Dis
Candidates MUST HAVE the following:
- Certification, training and/or a minimum of one (1) year medical transcriptionist experience
- Pathology and laboratory knowledge and/or experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Current negative PPD test
- Current proof of immunization for MMR and HepB
- Be a US citizen
- Be able to pass a background investigation
