AVP, Provider Network Market Growth Leader

Job Description

Serve as an influential and strategic leader charged with strategic growth, new market development to drive targeted results in areas of regional expansion for profitable growth for EmblemHealth as the plan of choice. Work to expand, optimize, and integrate EmblemHealth throughout the market and across continuum to develop and execute a profitable growth strategy, building new relationships and networks by region, driving continuous improvement and system standardization initiatives including forging strategic partnerships. Responsible for strategic volume growth across the enterprise, business planning, provider strategy and network outreach; provide leadership on physician contracting and negotiation. Collaborate with physician leaders, department leaders, and community partners to establish and meet service line goals, including quality outcomes, volume, financial, member access, member satisfaction goals. Responsible for creating and/or implementing tracking mechanisms to track increases in volume, growth, and revenue by program, service line and/or physician. Complete new program development/expansion plans; coordinate marketing and physician outreach in messaging campaigns working with Strategic Marketing & Communications and strategic outreach departments. Identify critical gaps/new, innovative offerings to ensure the services offered position the service line for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight of strategic program and network development, provider enterprise strategy, provider relationship engagement/alignment and management.
  • Lead and support the development of growth plans and initiatives; determine business models and drive their development in qualified markets working closely with senior leadership.
  • Identify business objectives, expected revenues and expenses for service provision and develop, implement, and monitor operating budgets.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports as required by leadership to identify trends, additional business opportunities and obstacles to business growth.
  • Develop business plans and financial documentation for provider recruitment, professional services agreements, new service line development/programming and other business initiatives.
  • Ensure the design, development and implementation of the vision, strategic plan and associated business plans in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Evaluate market data and financial information, in collaboration with leadership, to identify priorities, create data-driven market lists, and develop strategic growth plans with measurable results.
  • Cultivate relationships with and providers; coordinate and implement marketing programs; develop and implement specific strategies and action plans to meet the needs of key provider groups.
  • Develop an understanding of providers’ business and challenges and uses that understanding to develop action plan and focus solutions on providers.
  • Direct new business generation and help to ensure existing physician and hospital relationships are maintained.
  • Stay abreast of industry innovations, market trends, and competitive positions to assist with business
  • Responsible with leading healthy growth plans, long range strategic planning, service line planning, and performing significant business and strategic analysis.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or HealthCare Administration, or related degree; Master’s preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role within an acute care or physician medical group, preferably in an integrated health system required
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, mentoring skills, and a history of creating and maintaining positive, productive relationships within healthcare required
  • Experience with business development/growth, acquisitions, negotiation required
  • Self-directed and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative and follow-through required
  • Demonstrated experience in developing successful working relationships at all levels of the organization required
  • Strong process design skills and ability to systematically execute on that design required
  • Proven ability to drive projects from inception to completion required
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation, active listening) skills required
