Adminstrator of Adult Behavioral Health Facility

Job Description

Frye Regional Medical Center

• Demonstrates expertise in coordinating, directing, and managing all aspects of behavioral health services.• Responsible to meet volume, FTE, and financial targets for behavioral health service line.• Responsible for establishing and maintaining high quality patient care standards and services at behavioral health facility including environment of care.• Executes goals by leading initiatives, meeting deadlines, coordinating resources, and providing accountability.• Responsible for hiring, training and supervision of facility’s behavioral health services key leadership positions.• Creates and fosters environment for professional growth• Demonstrates strong budget management skills.• Responsible to cultivate relationships with regional hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure behavioral health services business development/community relations initiatives and strategies are met.• Ensures all admission and intake functions provide effective, efficient and consumer friendly services.• Works with leadership to address all physician leadership and practice needs.• Assists facility with ED strategies related to behavioral health patients to provide quality and efficient care.• Ensures all compliance and regulatory requirements are met.• Provides regular onsite reviews of behavioral health services operations to ensure quality patient care and staff support needs are met and communicates status to leadership.• Participates on all behavioral health services initiatives and strategies as requested.• Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.• Demonstrates good communication skills

Job Requirements

  • B.S in Nursing or Management required; Masters preferred. Current RN licensure by State of NC; Current CPR
  • Five years of experience in psychiatric nursing; three years managerial/supervisory experience with practical application in clinical and managerial situations. Currently working as a behavioral executive (ie CEO at Behavioral Health facility or as a Director of a large acute facility with large multi-unit psych departments required). Must possess a working knowledge of hospital committee functions, policy and procedures and the various regulatory agency standards applicable to psychiatric nursing.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management required. Effective communication skills to facilitate working in conjunction with Medical Staff, COO, CNO, CEO, and other administrative directors. Strong coordinating skills and ability to maintain standards of care through collaboration with other nursing and non-nursing entities. Ability to manage extensive, complex quality initiatives with minimal variation from goal.
