Job Description

Maria Parham Health

Provide administrative support, performs clerical and customer service functions, as well as non-technical duties in the clinic.

Use knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 codes to accurately code and bill for office visits, out patient procedures, in patient visits, and in patient procedures. 
Prepares statistical reports and performs clerical functions such as preparing and sending outgoing mail, distributing incoming mail, maintaining filing systems, entering data and maintaining databases, typing documents and correspondence, photocopying, scanning, and faxing. Process insurance claims for private and employer insurance reimbursement

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
□ High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred x Required

Minimum Education
□ Two years of college x Preferred □ Required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Detailed oriented

Requires knowledge of medical billing and collection practices and procedures for commercial insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid.

Experience with billing process; claims - electronic and paper, authorizations, payment posting, CPT coding, benefit verification, EOB's and ERA's.

Self motivated and able to prioritize tasks.

Good communication skills with patients and insurance companies.

Working knowledge of medical terminology.
