1.Directly responsible for the performance of all Billing and Collection functions of the Post-Acute Care facilities (Henry J. Carter/LTACH and SNF, Coler, Gouverneur, McKinney and Seaview). This will include being a liaison between the Hospital Staff (including Discharge Planners/Social Workers), Medical Staff, and Medical Directors and may include being a liaison with the SNF/LTACH support staff including Administration, MDS, Patient Relations, UM Department, and Health Information Management.
2.Manages census and payor tree managment in Point Click Care system.
3.Prepare reports that manages data analysis and operational reports to address deficiencies and improve overall collections involving Post-Acute Care
4.Optimize collection by tracking Accounts Receivable (AR) and develop collection target and communicates expectations to staff.
5.Works with other hospital departments to resolve problems leading to pattern of incorrect coding
6.Reviews and generate reports of denied claims, determine root cause, and appeal for payment.
7.Plans and coordinates department efforts in process improvement activities while driving standardization of work flows (best practices). Continually promotes and foster a positive patient experiences continuity of care and adequate provision of services to all patients/residents that are admitted to the various facilities.
1.A Master's degree in public administration or business administration, or in an equivalent or equally acceptable program, and four (4) years of satisfactory, full-time paid experience in a major governmental agency or large corporation or foundation in management analysis or in operational direction, planning, coordination or control of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
2.A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as stated in #1 above of which three (3) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
3.A satisfactory equivalent, however, all candidates must possess not less than the two (2) years of supervisory, administrative or consultative experience required. Four (4) years of appropriate general experience may be substituted for a Baccalaureate degree requirement. Appropriate full-time teaching experience in an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience and appropriate full-time teaching experience in a position of professional rank may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required supervisory, administrative or consultative experience.
4.This position is based at our Coler facility located on Roosevelt Island, and will require travel to the five Post Acute Care sites as needed to maintain adequate coverage.
1.A Bachelor's degree in public administration or business administration, or in an equivalent or equally acceptable program, or six (6) years of billing experience at Skill Nursing Facilities (SNF).
2.The ability to travel to five post-acute care facilities located throughout NYC
3.Three years Point Click Care EMR billing experience required
4.Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems.
5.Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports.
6.Detail oriented with a Patient Accounts Management background in Long Term Care Facility.
7.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and internal personal skills.
8.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
9.Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
10.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
