Job Description

Georgetown Community Hospital

The incumbent’s primary focus is to assist theprovider to provide service to patients of all ages. The incumbent willcarry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical andmoral conduct, acts in the best interest of GCH, and fully supports the code ofconduct, mission, vision, and values of Georgetown Community Hospital. Theincumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstratedability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of adiverse workforce
  1. Assist theProvider to provide service to patients of all ages including evaluation,planning, individual treatment programs goals and other related duties withinthe designated scope of the practice.

  2. Responsible forcalling in/e-scribe medication to pharmacies in accordance with clinicprotocol. Triage patient calls and answering patient questions. Obtains vitals,patient and medication history

  3. Assist withmonitoring and management of patient and physician electronic messages asdelegated by the provider within scope of practice.

  4. Assists in minorprocedures, sterile prep and supplies

  5. Notifies patientsof lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the healthcare provider.

  6. Assists in thegeneral operation of the physician office.

  7. Maintainsconfidentiality and protects privacy of healthcare information, security ofpassword, and access codes.

  8. Maintains a cleanand well organized work station, follows all safety regulations, code ofconduct and ethics, Revenue Cycle Guidelines, customer service, and attendshospital and clinical training and departmental staff meetings.

  9. Assists withreferrals, prior authorizations, & pre-certifications

  10. Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Graduate of a state medical assistant program.

Credentialed through the Certifying Board (CB)of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) ,The NationalHealthcare Association (NHA) or  TheAmerican Medical Technologists (AMT)

Current BLS required.
