Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent Required
Associate’s degree PreferredRequired SkillsCertifications:EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA Preferredor completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire.Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) RequiredRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
