Construction Project Manager

Job Description

To manage assigned construction projects from beginning to end including, but not limited to, establishing project budgets, preparing lump sum bids, attending client meetings, and closing out projects within an approved project budget and timeline. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage project development for projects from $50K to $1MM from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives
  • Own overall project delivery (cost, schedule, quality, information, contracts) on multiple project assignments
  • Manage all budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures, and controls for assigned projects
  • Supervise multiple crews simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Manage the review and approval process for vendor invoices, contractor pay applications, change orders and coordinate with Control Manager for proper posting in reporting program
  • Attend assigned meetings to manage and report weekly job progress, issue meeting minutes during design
  • Resolve complex construction related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
  • Review status and monitor variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting
  • Review daily requirements of the projects, document progress and notify managers of progress and challenges
  • Provide appropriate field documentation, photo logs, graphs, and sketches for various projects
  • Qualify vendors and subcontractors and guide them through the vendor qualification process
  • Serve as the highest-ranking onsite Owners Representative with an emphasis on ensuring Schedule, Cost, Scope and Safety

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-year experience as a Project Manager in an Engineering, Environmental or Construction environment required; previous healthcare project management experience in Construction preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or Construction Management preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building required
  • Must be capable of managing fixed bid projects and rate and material projects
  • Construction focus - plan, coordinate, and oversee employees and subcontractors in all phases of work
  • Ability to read and manage blueprints
  • Understand and adhere to local building codes, regulatory agency requirements and ADA Compliance
  • Must maintain high attention to detail
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
  • Possess sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • English language literacy and fluency
  • Excellent communication skills in this client facing position
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical skills include time management, budgeting, scheduling, site supervision, customer contact, communication, quality control, safety, documentation, and change orders

PAY RANGE: $70,000-$85,000 PER YEAR
