Director, Clinic Practice Operations


North Texas Medical Center (NTMC), Gainesville, Texas, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Director, Clinic Practice Operations to oversee the operational and financial performance of six multi-specialty outpatient clinics located on the campus of the hospital. The Director, Clinic Practice Operations will establish a clinic-operating model that is efficient and leads to high-quality patient outcomes. Theses clinics are designated as provider based Rural Clinics .


Reporting to the hospital CEO, the Director will lead operational and administrative processes, develop quality assurance benchmarks, assist in the growth of business development and success of strategic issues, and ensure accuracy throughout the revenue cycle.



Education and/or Experience: (special training, certifications, college degree, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration

  • At least 5 years’ experience in rural healthcare practice administration, preferably with multi-site and/or multi-practice responsibility



• Prior experience with and knowledge of Rural Healthcare Clinic reimbursement practices and regulations


  • Proficiency in electronic practice and health record management systems


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (technical, interpersonal, etc.)



• Prior experience with and knowledge of Rural Healthcare Clinic reimbursement practices and regulations



• Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (and Google Workspace)



• Superior interpersonal communication skills and the ability to exercise empathy when working with patients and their families


  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrate an understanding of standard clinical procedures, laws and regulations

  • Ability to work independently, but function as part of a team

Job Requirements

Description of Duties/Essential Functions:  

  • •       Manages daily activities in a physician office, clinic or other patient care facility to ensure efficient office operations. Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to ensure needs of the facility are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • •       Coordinates accounts receivable management to ensure maximum reimbursement. 

  • •       Communicates with various departments to coordinate services, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of patient care

  • •       Investigates, resolves and documents resolution of patient complaints

  • •       Leads Physician and Advance Practice Provider Recruitment & Retention efforts

  • •       Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer



Supervisory Responsibilities:  


  • Supervises Clinical Program Coordinators, Medical Assistants, LVN,  Schedulers, and Registrar

  • Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels and recommends termination of assigned employees. Approves and contributes to in-service education programs for assigned personnel.
