Plans, organizes and coordinates the daily pick up and drop off of patients utilizing assigned technology, making quick and effective decisions throughout the day. Monitors vehicles and Driver through GPS. Uses nearest available Driver to complete all trips in the most efficient way possible; develops routes for next working day; responsible for the daily communication between the Drivers and the Base, also reports to the Supervisor any vehicles malfunctioning, Driver misconduct, or any other incident.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•The Dispatcher plans, organizes and coordinates the volume of patient trip and requests throughout the day.
•Enforces the Transportation rules, regulations and procedures to be able to control the daily operation while the Drivers are on the road.
•The Dispatcher is the first contact with the Driver, maintains constant communication by telephone with the Drivers; he/she is the responsible for reporting transit accidents or incidents; any vehicles malfunctioning, Driver misconduct, or any other incident.
•Operates a computer software program to be able to maintain current transportation information log up to date, monitors the GPS display screen to pin point exact locations of all vehicles through the day.
•Enforces timely pick up by Drivers making the correct decision for patients to get to their destination appointments on time, and when they have finished, returning them as soon as possible to their homes.
•Makes a considerable emphasis on the Daily Transportation schedule, in order to avoid unnecessary overtime by the Drivers.
•Coordinates the preparation of the routes for the next day, scheduling, and verifies the each trip information.
•Organizes the work to meet schedules and timelines within a constantly changing priorities environment.
•Serves as a liaison officer for the transferring trips to outside sources as needed.
•Informs the Supervisor of any incident or delays with patients for its proper investigation.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
