Executive Chef

Job Description

We are a premier senior living community and are seeking a team-oriented professional to deliver exceptional service to our residents as an Executive Chef.  We are a family-owned community committed to providing a “new generation of retirement living” for seniors, offering a full continuum of care from independent and assisted living to every stage of memory care.

Position Summary: Prepare or supervise the preparation of food daily as outlined by the weekly menus. Encourage quality and artistic plate delivery. Effectively manage team members, leading by example in uniform guidelines, work ethic, and respect for both staff and residents. Adhere to and enforce company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.  Interact positively with marketing, nursing, and various other departments to stimulate the overall growth of the community. Interact positively with residents to enhance an active and content lifestyle within the community.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer-focused role

  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation and service

  • Lead crews in all aspects of food service and preparation, both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house, expecting thorough and timely completion of tasks.

  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members

  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others

  • Ability to maintain a customer focus treating all customers with respect and integrity

  • Ability to accept responsibility for agreements made and follow through as appropriate

  • Strong organizational skills are required

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
