Food & Beverage Director

Job Description

FUNCTION: Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of the Food Service Department in accordance with State regulations and Five Star policies and procedures to ensure that quality food is provided at all times.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) license, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Two or more years of food service supervisory experience focusing on food management, cost control and presentation; Long Term Care experience highly preferred

  • Experience and/or training in nutrition, food preparation, safe food handling techniques and food service management required

  • High School Diploma required; college experience preferred

  • Experience managing employee schedules

  • Flexibility to put in the hours to get the job done

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members

  • Computer skills are desired for food ordering, email, and report development/tracking
