Long Term Care Director of Nursing (2947)

Job Description

Bolivar Medical Center

The Post Acute Director of Nursing is responsible for 24 hour effective operation of the assigned nursing department by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital's mission, vision, goals and objectives. Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care are the Post Acute Director of Nursing's primary functions. This position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning.


In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient-centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, nights and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. This job description is only meant to be a representative of the major responsibilities and accountabilities performed by the incumbents of this job. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Job Requirements

Education

BSN degree in Nursing

Master's in Nursing preferred.

Successful completion of arrhythmia course

 

License

License RN for the State of Mississippi

Currently holds an active BCLS certification


Experience

Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience. 


Skills

Requires clinical thinking skills

Ability to develop and implement Acute-Care goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the organization.
