Under direction of the Department Nursing Director, assists with directing and supervising nursing services and administration functions of the assigned nursing units. Participates in providing direct patient care on a regular basis, and uses the role of bedside leader to improve positive patient care and work environment outcomes.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes mission and values of Lifepoint and St. Francis-Emory Healthcare.
Assists with ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines in nursing areas.
Promotes a healthy work environment that leads to effective nursing recruitment and retention outcomes.
Assists Director with ensuring that unit operations run within budgetary guidelines.
Assumes primary responsibility for projects or task groups as assigned, keeping stakeholders informed of the progress toward desired outcomes.
Participates in daily Nurse Leader Rounding
Assists with monthly Employee Rounding
Provides input to annual performance reviews, and participates in ongoing performance improvement with individual employees.
Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines as set by federal, state, local, and other agencies.
Uses data to monitor and track trends in order to drive positive patient quality outcomes.
Mentors and develops direct reports
Serves as a professional role model for nursing practice
Proactively monitors and tracks outcomes to improve the delivery of patient care
