 Under direction of the Department Nursing Director, assists with directing and supervising nursing services and administration functions of the assigned nursing units. Participates in providing direct patient care on a regular basis, and uses the role of bedside leader to improve positive patient care and work environment outcomes.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Promotes mission and values of Lifepoint and St. Francis-Emory Healthcare.
 Assists with ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines in nursing areas.
 Promotes a healthy work environment that leads to effective nursing recruitment and retention outcomes.
 Assists Director with ensuring that unit operations run within budgetary guidelines.
 Assumes primary responsibility for projects or task groups as assigned, keeping stakeholders informed of the progress toward desired outcomes.
 Participates in daily Nurse Leader Rounding
 Assists with monthly Employee Rounding
 Provides input to annual performance reviews, and participates in ongoing performance improvement with individual employees.
 Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines as set by federal, state, local, and other agencies.

Essential Functions:

Uses data to monitor and track trends in order to drive positive patient quality outcomes.
 Mentors and develops direct reports
 Serves as a professional role model for nursing practice
 Proactively monitors and tracks outcomes to improve the delivery of patient care
 Advocates for LifePoint’s and St. Francis-Emory Healthcare’s mission and values, both internally and in the community
 Role models a professional image
 Is self-directed and individually accountable for performance, competency, and clinical outcomes.
 Promotes a team environment
 Effectively facilitates meetings, problem-solving groups, focus groups, and multi-disciplinary teams
 Role models effective, respectful communication and handles conflict in a way that promotes a positive outcome
 Promotes positive employee engagement.
 Proactively looks for and engages with performance improvement opportunities

Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
BSN required, or actively progressing toward completion within 2 years.
Post graduate degree in a healthcare related field (MSN, MHA, MBA) required, or actively progressing toward completion within 5 years.

MINIMUM 2 YEARS CLINICAL BEDSIDE NURSING EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM 2 YEARS IN A SUPERVISORY/LEADERSHIP ROLE.

Professional RN license in Georgia
Nursing leadership certification required, or actively progressing toward completion within 1 year
