Job Description

St Francis Hospital

Serve as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).  Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating two or more functional roles of the patient care plan of which may include the following: Nurse Technician, Unit Secretary, EKG Technician, and Monitor Technician.  Accurately and promptly communicate with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.


Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
 

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS); Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required without completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR post-secondary nursing education program; OR currently enrolled in a School of Nursing with completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” curriculum required to perform Nurse Technician duties; Certified EKG Technician (CET) is required to perform Electrocardiogram duties; otherwise preferred.


Minimum Work Experience:

One (1) year of nursing assistance experience is preferred.
