Performs collection and proper labeling of all types of laboratory specimens including venous, capillary and arterial blood specimens and urine specimens.
Requires: High School diploma or equivalent; proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection in all age groups served (neonate-geriatric adult); excellent customer service skills; basic computer skills; excellent critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision; effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate in a clear, concise manner with co-workers, physicians, nursing staff and patients; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of all information; ability to multi-task; ability to prioritize; ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures; effective skills in identifying problems, using problem-solving methodologies, and recommending solutions; must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action; ability to operate copier, scanner, and fax machine; ability to learn and possess knowledge/follow all steps of the paperwork flow of all patient reports from ordering the tests to Medical Records; ability to learn and possess knowledge of lab computer for test ordering and Lab Corp ordering; and ability to mentor and teach new employees. Current registration or eligibility as a PBT (ASCP) or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Previous experience as a Laboratory Phlebotomist is preferred, but not required. Expected Salary Range DOE: $14.98-$19.98. Full Time Opportunities include:
