Graduation from a school of nursing as a registered nurse required

Required LicensesCurrent RN license requiredOne year experience in a Medical/Surgical or Behavioral Health unit preferredBLS requiredACLS, PALS, and ASLS preferredRequired SkillsVerbal and written ability to give information and present ideas essential in administrative managementAbility to understand advanced theory and practice in nursingFamiliarity with organization and functions of each hospital departmentAbility to discern legal implications in nursingAbility to motivate personnel, problem-solve effectively and handle stress in a positive mannerMaintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departmentsEssential Functions Function as a staff or charge nurse and performs functions of a registered nurse - uses the nursing process to access, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients.Supervise and coordinate care in a manner to ensure that patient needs are provided in an efficient manner and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Ability to problem-solve effectively and apply critical-thinking skills to provide quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.Responsible for assisting in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Provide excellent customer service including patient education.Ability to work with all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.Ability to work with Paragon applications (computer system)Documentation is reflective of care provided to ensure accurate charges are placed.Possess the knowledge to use medication delivery system while coordinating within the healthcare team in the safe delivery of medications.Ability to assess patient acuity to formulate staffing plan
