Title: Cath – Lab Registered Nurse  

Job Description 

Providence Health Hospital is looking for a compassionate, procedure-driven, detail oriented Registered Nurse to join their team in the Cath Lab Unit.  

Registered Nurses in the Cath Lab assist the doctor with procedures such as stent placements and the insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators, along with providing care for the patient through the duration of the process and after. They demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in assessing, planning, and executing plans of care for patients. The ideal Cath Lab Registered Nurse is detail oriented, collaborative and highly skilled written and verbal communicators.  

Essential Functions of the Cath Lab Registered Nurse:  

  • Ability to assess patient's physiological, psychosocial, and environmental health in accordance with age-specific growth and development 

  • Assess, plans, and executes plans of care for patients in the Cath Lab unit 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to interpret age specific data for patient populations according to the unit structures standards 

  • Interprets clinical findings and correlates with patient's condition 

  • Performs nursing procedures in the Cath Lab safely, efficiently, and skillfully according to hospital policies 

  • Safely administers medication according to hospital policy and procedures, keeping informed of the dosage, effects, and side-effects of medications 

Job Requirements

Minimum Work Experience of the Cath Lab Registered Nurse: 

  • Two years of telemetry experience, or 

  • One year of critical care unit nursing experience, or 

  • One year of nursing experience in a cath lab 

Minimum Education of the Cath Lab Registered Nurse: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 

Required Licenses/Certifications of the Cath Lab Registered Nurse: 

  • Current South Carolina Registered Nurse licensure, or a new graduate with a temporary permit and scheduled to complete the state exam  

  • BLS & ACLS certification
