Providesnursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area.
Providesdirect patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance withapplicable scope and standards of practice.
Supervisesand mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
Assistsin determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability,staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
Providesdirect patient care as needed.
Floatsbetween staff to assist with problem-solving.
Takespatient assignments to meet staffing needs.
Evaluatesthe effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desiredpatient outcomes.
Respondsto complaints about patient care and related services, and manages throughestablished channels.
Performsrole-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performingadmissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
Ensuresstaff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patientcare.
Reportsto the Nurse Manager.
Bachelor’sdegree is preferred.
Associate’sdegree in Nursing is required.
RegisteredNurse - RN License in the State of TN or another compact state.
Thebelow certifications will be required at the time of hire:
BasicLife Support (BLS)
Requirescritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision.
Mustbe able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
