Title: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse
Providence Health Hospital is looking for an experienced, dedicated and motivated Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse to join our night shift team in the Northeast Campus location.
The Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse is skilled in assessing and treating acutely ill patients. They provide care to patients who do not require treatment in Intensive Care Units, but whose conditions need constant observation and monitoring. The Progressive Care Registered Nurse is part of a collaborative, communicating and partnering with medical staff, the patient, and their families.
Essential Functions of the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse:
Assesses patient's status within identified functional health patterns, i.e., management of health, growth and development, oxygenation, activity, etc.
Collaborates with the Progressive Care Unit physicians and medical staff regarding appropriateness of daily and routine orders based on change in the patient's status
Identifies appropriate nursing diagnosis or collaborative problems which can be addressed through nursing interventions
Ensures that care is delivered to assigned patients in accordance with medical orders and nursing standards and is documented in clinical records and on plans of care
Monitors and administers prescribed medication, as well as performing titration of drug doses per unit policy
