Tasks to beperformed when staff RN is assigned Charge function on a given shift: Individual assigned to charge isresponsible to assess, plan, direct and evaluate the delivery of care to allpatients in the following areas: Utilizing the acuity classification systemassess the number and skill level of personnel needed to provide quality patientcare in the department for the upcoming shift. Assess the efficiency andeffectiveness of care provided on assigned shift and identifies problems withrecommendations for improvement. Directs/supervises others in the planning ofpatient care. Facilitates all admissions and discharges of patients to theunit. Effectively directs staff during any emergency situation.
