Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with a current active Indiana license. Should be able to work day and/or night shift and one rotating holiday. Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating and the care for patients with breathing disorders from neonate to geriatric. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures such as: administering medical gases, humidification and aerosols, aerosol medications, postural drainage, bronchopulmonary hygiene, cardiopulmonary resuscitation; mechanical ventilation; non-invasive ventilation; maintaining artificial and natural airway, arterial blood gas draws. Documents necessary information in the patient's medical record and on other forms, and communicates that information to members of the health care team. Obtains, assembles, calibrates, and checks necessary equipment. Uses problem solving to identify and correct malfunctions of respiratory care equipment. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills to work productively with patients, families, staff, and co-workers. Accepts directives, maintains confidentiality, and upholds the ethical standards of the profession.
