 Under the general direction of the Operating Room Director /Coordinator, is responsible for setting up O.R. for emergency cases, scrubbing cases, checking, ordering and putting away supplies.  Assists in Central Sterile Supply, as needed.Under the general direction of the Operating Room Director /Coordinator, is responsible for setting up O.R. for emergency cases, scrubbing cases, checking, ordering and putting away supplies.  Assists in Central Sterile Supply, as needed.

1. Scrubs on cases assigned for the day.
2.  Maintains sterile technique.
3. Maintains stock and supplies to PAR level.
4. Performs daily and weekly cleaning in surgical suite.
5. Reports mechanical failure and needed repairs of equipment and instruments in a timely manner.   Washes and prepares instruments for sterilization.
6. Sterilizes instruments as needed.
7. Assists in CSS, as needed.
8. Is knowledgeable and possesses the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs, growth and development of patients in any of the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics.
9. To maintain on call status and report to GCH within 30 minutes of notification.

CPR

Certified Surg Tech preferred but not required.

Prior hospital experience as a Surg Tech is preferred.
