Job Description



 

Assignment to an individual student mandated by the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) for non-instructional 1:1 services in the areas of activities of daily living, transitioning from activities (including arrival and dismissal), organizing classroom and materials for instruction, and other non-instructional activities within the classroom.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Escort students to and from the school buses at arrival and dismissal time. Escort students throughout the building outside of the classroom.

  2. Assist students during activities of daily living activities (e.g., hand washing, toileting).

  3. Assist teachers and teacher assistants in organizing materials for instruction or specifically for the child mandated for 1:1 services.

  4. Assist in cleaning procedures in classroom to maintain health and safety of students.

  5. Follow policies and procedures of Early Learning Centers.
    6. Perform other related duties as assigned.


EFFECT ON END RESULTS


  1. Students arrive promptly to their classes and safety of children is maintained in the building.

  2. Ensure that students follow daily living activities routines.

  3. Instructional environment is organized for students’ learning.

  4. Maintain health and safety of students.

  5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and supervision of children regulations of Department of Health, NY State Department of Education, and NYC Department of Education.

  6. Related duties are performed completely, on time and accurately.
